The Italianate style was based on the rural
architecture of Italy. Italianate houses usually have a square shape
and two stories with wide eaves which are supported by large brackets.
The roof of an Italianate house has a low slope, and there is often
a “cupola” crowing the top. Windows on this style of building
are often rounded, and highly decorated columns support porches. |
